Books Terms & Conditions
Any reservation, whether verbal or written, constitutes a legal contract. In the event of a cancellation, both parties should endeavour to re-let the accommodation. Should neither party succeed, then the person making the reservation remains legally liable to pay for that accommodation. In most cases, this legal liability can be covered by insurance and we recommend you contact your own insurers for further information.
Prices
All prices are per person per night unless otherwise stated, and are inclusive of VAT. A supplement is charged for single occupancy of a double/twin/family bedroom. Standard rates include Full English Breakfast (B&B). Other meals, snacks, light refreshments and alcoholic drinks are charged as extra unless offered in a special promotion.
Deposits
A non-returnable deposit of £15 per person, or £50 per person per week of accommodation, is required to secure a booking. Written confirmation of the booking will then be sent upon receipt. Higher deposits may be required at special events e.g. Christmas, New Year and certain weekends throughout the year. This deposit will be held against the room until the final account is settled. The deposit may be made by cheque or cash direct to the hotel or by debit or credit card over the telephone. A debit/credit card number will be required as security for all reservations.
Payments
The full balance of payment for accommodation must be paid on arrival at the commencement of the booking. One night bookings must be paid for, in full, at the time of booking or on arrival. Payment is accepted using Cash, Cheque, VISA, MasterCard, Delta, Electron, Maestro and Solo. Debit Cards may be used free of charge. Reservations for one week or more are to be paid in full one week prior to arrival.
Cancellation of Booking
All deposits are non-refundable. If you need to cancel your reservation, please do so as far in advance as possible. Both parties should endeavour to re-let the accommodation. Should neither party succeed then the person making the reservation remains legally liable to pay for that accommodation. However, if it has not been possible to re-let the accommodation, we reserve the right to charge for the full reservation. In most cases this liability can be covered by insurance. We therefore strongly recommend that cancellation insurance is taken out. If you cancel your stay, you must inform The Mon Fort in writing before the arrival date. Please do not make cancellations via recorded message on the telephone. Cancellation charges depend upon when we receive your written instruction prior to the date of your scheduled arrival.
| Notice Period | Cancellation Charge |
| 8 days or more | Loss of deposit only |

| 3 days prior to reservation | 100% of total reservation |
Arrival & Departure
Rooms will be available for occupancy from 2.00 pm on the day of arrival. Guests are requested to vacate their rooms by 10am on the day of departure. In the event of non-arrival 100% of the cost of the reservation is payable. Please advise us of late arrival times.
Parking
We have a small private car park but have unlimited parking around the hotel with parking permits which are collected at the time of booking in. The Mon Fort takes no responsibility for any fines etc. incurred for illegally parked vehicles. Parking is entirely at owner's risk.
Keys
Keys are issued, on loan, to guests for their convenience & security. Keys must not be loaned to any other person, other than those occupying the rooms. Loss of keys will incur a £10.00 surcharge.
No Smoking Policy
All of the building is non-smoking. We have a smoking area located at the front of the hotel. Please note that we reserve the right to charge for any damage caused by guests smoking in the bedrooms.
Guests Behaviour
The Mon Fort reserves the right to evict any person or persons, without compensation, deemed to have caused damage to property, nuisance, danger or abuse to any other guests or employees. Visitors who are not registered hotel guests are not allowed up to the rooms.
Damage to Hotel Property
We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the guest to the hotel’s property furnishings or structure. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to guest's credit/debit card used for the deposit charge, or to send an invoice for the amount to the registered address. We will however make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.
Group Bookings – PLEASE READ IF RELEVANT
Where a Group of people are booked into the Hotel (a Group being more than three rooms) by a Group Leader, then the responsibility for the conduct and actions of all of the members of the Group is the responsibility of the Group Leader. A debit/credit card must be registered with the hotel for Security reasons and should be clarified with the Group that this card guarantees all the rooms included in the reservation. If this is not agreeable to the Group Leader, then members of the group would need to guarantee their own rooms. Deposits cannot be transferred from any places cancelled. Final numbers are required ONE WEEK prior to arrival. After that, all places reserved become subject to normal cancellation charges.
For bookings which reserve more than 6 rooms the balance of the reservation is due ONE WEEK prior to arrival. This generally assists the Group Leader in collating the final monies to ensure no unnecessary charges are incurred through a last minute drop in numbers. We are happy to discuss arrangements regarding this.
